Curriculum

At Olives Rising Stars Academy our curriculum is a well-balanced blend of the UK Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and the Creative Curriculum, popularly used in the USA. Our blended program is designed to nurture resilient, capable learners in an interactive, safe, caring, learning environment. The curriculum is designed to be practical and realistic in recognizing that the “one size fits all” approach to learning could be destructive to the learning process and a child’s self-confidence.

Programs

Olives Rising Stars Academy is an early learning center that seeks to edify your infant, toddler, and preschool-age child in a stimulating, nurturing and culturally diverse environment. Our school is open to children between the ages of six months to six years old.

Our building provides a colourful home-like atmosphere for your little ones. We have spared no expense in creating safe, hygienic, comfortable and educational classrooms to accommodate the intuitive child of today. Olives Rising Stars Academy is the new standard in day care!

INFANTS

6 Months -2 Years Old

Our Infant Rooms admits children from six months old to two years old. This age range, although in the infant class, is further split into six months to twelve months, thirteen months to eighteen months and from nineteen months to twenty-four months.

Loving Teachers Foster Social-emotional Development

In our infant program, our loving teachers foster social-emotional development through nurturing relationships with the babies, while babies develop physical skills as they learn to move and manipulate the wide range of toys available to them.

In crawling and feeling new textures, our babies are discovering the world around them, establishing a strong foundation for learning.

We work closely with parents and care givers to create a daily schedule full of learning experiences and social interaction moments. Individual and small-group connection activities and rich, meaningful interactions encourage babies’ cognitive skills as they learn to navigate their world.

As children’s physical and exploration skills develop, the first steps classroom offers new challenges and discoveries. Our teachers nurture and encourage the children as they begin to communicate, crawl and walk. These developing skills lead to an expansion of emotions, such as frustration if children stumble while learning to walk, and joy when they succeed.

TODDLER

2 -3 Years Old

Our toddler room admits children between the ages of two years to three years old. Encouraging children’s natural curiosity in a fun and active learning environment is paramount in our program.

Empowering children to become confident learners

We acknowledge that as children begin to walk and talk regularly, their curiosity to explore the world around them is heightened. In our toddler room, we encourage children’s independence by helping them to develop their self-help skills – they start to feed themselves and problem solve in conflict situations. These self-help skills and the opportunity to play and discover empower children to become more confident learners as they investigate new learning concepts.

PRESCHOOL

3 – 4 Years Old

Our preschool program admits children between the ages of three to four years old. Our preschool program is designed to help children develop crucial traits such as passion, perseverance and curiosity. This is done by engaging in play-based learning activities and sticking with them until they solve the problem or complete the project.

KINDERGARTEN

4 – 6 Years Old

Our kindergarten program admits children between the ages of four to six years old. The kindergarten program gives our children the jump-start for Year One and beyond. The intriguing, engaging, well-balanced curriculum allows children to explore and discover their interests while learning academic essentials and developing their social interaction skills.

Learn by actively engaging

Our teachers focus on theme-based learning, which allows children to learn by actively engaging in a task or long-term project. This type of learning encourages children to develop independence, confidence and initiative by exploring a subject.
